Let’s get real. We’re about 3 weeks past our frost date in our zone, and I know some of you might be ready to throw in the towel. I saw several brand new gardens last weekend that were about to be completely consumed in weeds, so you’re not alone. Remember how you carefully chose your plants from the nursery? Remember how fun it was to gently plant your seeds in your brand new patch of soil? Remember how you blissfully watched and waited for your first sprouts to emerge? It was all so exciting!
And then THEY showed up.
You pulled them all out right away, but then they just kept coming. The weeds. My friend, they’re always going to be there, just beneath the surface… lurking… waiting… popping up everywhere and mocking you.
There is an easy way to get rid of them (for now.) THERE IS HOPE!
The best advice I can give to you is to not pull all of the weeds at once. Your garden is already organized into rows or zones, so choose a row (or zone) to focus on. Maybe tomorrow you’ll weed around your peas, and the next day will be dedicated to the tomato zone.
Don’t let your garden go! Don’t give up! Remember how you felt when you started. Hold on to that feeling!
Did you build this garden because you dreamed of growing your own food?
Hold on to that dream and go show those weeds who’s boss!
