Currently working on a couple of blog posts wrapping up my garden notes for the year. 🎉 Last year at this time my brain was running wild dreaming up plans for this season. THIS year, I’m enjoying the C A L M. Produce has been canned and frozen. The gardens are picked up & organized. They’re looking fresh ✨, clean 🧼 and the soil has been tilled. This year’s garden was so fulfilling. 🥰🌱 I loved having B as my curious, eager garden helper. 👩🏻‍🌾👧🏼 I loved discovering the breed of our mystery tomato plant AFTER I pulled it out of the ground. I didn’t love my legs being covered in chigger bites after sitting in the dirt and weeds PULLING the weeds in leggings one hot summer night, but I’ll just throw that on the “lessons learned” list. AH, I’ll save the rest for the blog. UPDATE: EAST GARDEN notes live on the blog! #linkinbio⬆️

Weather like this casually takes my hand, sits me down and makes me take notice. Be still, be present, be grateful. 💙

Next to my carefully written to-do list this week is a post-it reminder. . FIND STILLNESS. . Do you struggle with this? Are you able to just... be? It’s hard for me, so I’m training myself to quiet the inner noise and NOT slip into self-distract mode. I tend to avoid self-distract mode (scrolling, researching & learning something random) with productivity which SOMEtimes, feels exactly like self-distract mode. At the end of the day when I reflect and pray— I still feel the whirlwind of distractions. Getting better at finding the stillness is one of my forever goals— because I know I’m going to have to work at it every single day. . . “In the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you.” -Deepak Chopra
